Episode 2

  1. Just a quick hint, if you tilt your microphone up so it's hovering right at nose level you won't get the popping noise when you say your P's. Enjoying the show!

  2. Jan! (I think I remember that your name was Jan.) Like you, I've been looking for a knitting history podcast for a long time, but I lacked the gumption to actually get out there and start one myself. I'm so glad that you did it!

General suggestion: make about half of each episode about knitting history and the other half about other topics like your own knitting or technology rants. Choose a cut-off date (e.g. "before the 20th century", "before the end of WW II".) Use Knittingupnorth's suggestion re: popping P's. :-)

Suggestions for knitting history topics: Eleanor of Toledo's stockings, the Gunnister Man, Nalbinding vs Knitting, the stocking knitting industry in Elizabethan England, those lovely middle-eastern blue-and-white colour stockings in (I think) the V&A, ecclesiastical gloves. (Browse through the Historic Knitting group in Ravelry for more inspiration. Join the HistoricKnit Yahoo likewise, if you haven't already.)

I want to support you in this as much as I can, because I *want* more episodes. (Now I'm off to alert my historically-enabled friends to the podcast so they can listen too!)
